Lectio Divina with the Monks
The Abbey Church was completed in 1948 (abbey was founded in 1889) and the church has one of the largest carvings based on the Shroud of Turin.
You may pray or read in the church whenever the church is open even if the monks are not there.
The abbey church is a good place to sit in silence. Silence is a good place for lectio divina.
The monks do lectio divina Monday through Friday at about 11:20 am (before Midday Prayer) and 4:20 pm (before Vespers).
The picture at the bottom of this page is of the lectio divina wall in the abbey church. Saint Leo Abbey may be one of the few churches or monasteries with such a prominent wall dedicated to lectio divina.
